CAMP TAYLOR FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT

The Camp Taylor Fire District conducted its monthly Board of Trustee’s meeting on December 5, 2011 at Station #1 at 4649 Poplar Level Road. Chairman Gary Fields called the meeting to order at 19:06 hours.
Attendance:
Members in attendance were Gary Fields, Mark Abell, Cecilia Kelly, John Wientjes, Dave Stauble, and Alan Lewis. John Bersot was absent.
Chief Harold Adkins, Deputy Chief Steve Adkins and several other members of the district were also in attendance.
Minutes:
The minutes from the November 2011 meeting were reviewed. A motion was made by John Wientjes and seconded by Dave Stauble to approve the minutes. Motion carried.
Financial Report:
None due to being so early in the Month.
Old Business:
The Hiring Committee with the Rest of the Board went into executive session at 20:07 and came out at 20:12. The Hiring Committee made the recommendation to hire Marcus Miller and Stanley Ferguson. A motion was made to make an offer of employment to the selected candidates by Alan Lewis and seconded by Cecilia Kelly. The motion carried.
Reps are coming to town tomorrow Dec. 6th to view the property we have for sale next to the station.
An offer to buy the Durrett Ln station was made for 270,000.00 and would like to close within 90 days. Alan Lewis made a motion to sell for the offered amount and seconded by Dave Stauble. The motion carried.
Dave Stauble and Deputy Chief Adkins spoke to Stock yards bank about reducing the fees associated with refinancing of debt.
New Business:
A motion was made by Dave Stauble for this meeting to be the monthly meeting for December and was seconded by John Wientjes. The motion carried
Chief’s Report:
Santa Claus will be in the district December 13, 14, and 15 starting at 1800.
Chief’s breakfast will be December 23 at 0700 at the firehouse.
Chief Adkins thanked everyone for a successful Christmas Party.
Light up Audubon will be Dec. 8th at 19:00
Breakfast at KY Rural Co-op will be Dec. 10th
The deadline to drop off toys for Kosair Children’s Hospital will be Dec. 15th
Deputy Chief’s Report:
Gave a report on land and station for sale. See old business for details.
Adjournment:
The next monthly meeting will be held on January 17, 2011 at 20:00 hours at the Camp Taylor Fire Station #1 at 4649 Poplar Level Road.
Before adjourning Lt Col. Otto Mock was recognized and thanked for his service to the Camp Taylor Fire District. Lt. Col Mock is retiring at the end of the month.
With no other business to discuss, a motion was made by Cecilia Kelly to adjourn seconded by Dave Stauble. Motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 20:29 hours.
